Story

Every bag, wallet and accessory is designed, cut and stitched by Edward in his Manchester based studio.

'I began creating leather goods — primarily bags — in my spare time while studying for a degree in Fine Art.

At first, I worked with leather off-cuts, often the rough, natural edges of the hide. Sewing these pieces together would determine the design, shape and scale of each bag. It was an intuitive process — the final form only revealing itself at the end.

That instinctive approach to making still informs my work today. The handwriting of those early designs, first launched in 2005, remains present in every collection. I often revisit and reinterpret earlier pieces, refining them for a new context.

My work has since evolved into a more minimalist expression — a natural extension of the way I respond to sculpture, art and considered design.

With de Lacy, my aim is to grow the brand thoughtfully and organically, creating timeless, understated pieces of lasting quality — an alternative to the mainstream luxury landscape.'
